Di mezinke oysgegebn (sheet music available)
I decided to knock a few of the most famous Zhelonek songs off my to-do list today. Here's another one. The mezinke is your youngest daughter; when you give her away (in marriage) that's a great day, because she was your last big financial responsibility and now she's off your shoulders. (As one of the songs I haven't recorded yet points out: "until now, little bride, you've ridden on your father as if on a horse, but now, you poor thing, it will be the reverse").
Here's the sheet music with verses, translation from the Yiddish, and chords:
Labels: humor & satire, klezmer, songs for sale, weddings
